why exactly was he fined?
He wrote an article in an Oxstu about the community organizing he took part in America over the summer as part of a voter registration campaign.
You're not allowed to write for the student press whilst you're running for election, so he got fined.
I don't think the articlas was as "me me me" as ousugossip says though.
He was fined for asking the RO if he could publish the article, told no and then doing it anyway. So he was fined for stupidity.
